in my opinion, is a very significant one. Skeeter is a wealthy white young lady, recently graduated from college and eager to have a career as a 'real writer'. Minny is an extremely outspoken maid, who reluctantly agrees to help, skeeter under the persuasion of Aibileen. Both commercially sucessful and a very enjoyable read, I believe this novel successfully highlights a very interesting and important period in modern history and makes it accessable to a wider audience.
